Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil
Lucas Milano works with the notion of inner landscapes. His paintings do not refer to recognizable places in the world, but to imagined revelations that seem to emerge at the threshold between appearance and disappearance, evoking the very phantasmagoria of the image. They are proto-landscapes that function as emotional tableaux: spatial principles corresponding to atmospheric sensations and visual enigmas. Between silence and noise, the artist investigates the interval—the state of the “in-between”—where mysterious presences insinuate themselves, suspended between the familiar and the unknown. Within this field, his work also opens onto speculations and fictions connected to the occult, scientific conjecture, and the digital imaginary, probing the void, the interim, and zones yet to be named
