Lives and works in Recife.

[ABOUT]

The body and sound are the primary materials in Izidoro’s work. The artist conducts research that uses the body as the central installation on display. Essential to the existence of her work, the body is placed at the center of the stage as a source of energy, equipped with connectors that capture her muscular movements and transmit them to a receptor, which translates the intensity of these gestures into sound. From this outcome, Iara reflects on the body’s power not only as a social construct but also as a living organism, positioning it as a generative force of nature.

Izidoro’s work is deeply connected to the notion of science as an aesthetic tool to challenge outdated concepts of life and matter, detached from abstract thinking about existence. Her artistic practice rejects fixed ideologies about the body and explores its limits and possibilities as an ever-evolving entity. In doing so, she creates an experience that blurs the boundaries between scientific perception and artistic abstraction, allowing the body to transcend its natural constraints and emerge as a symbol of infinite potential and transformation.
